Giving back and contributing to charitable causes is a big part of the Gillco culture. Recently, we participated in a charity for The Friends & Family Community Connection (aka FFCC) – a local outreach program that has evolved over the last 30 years to include care for the homeless and seniors in need in North County San Diego. With a large society of volunteers, FFCC has incredible reach and capability to bring enormous help to others, and the Gillco team is extremely grateful to be a part of this community.
In July 2017, FFCC held an event benefitting families in Tanzania who are struggling with the drought and famine that is running rampant across East and Southern Africa, which is leaving more than 38 million people at risk. Some of our Gillco staff (along with their families) joined the cause and helped to package over 300,000 meals to be sent to the families of Tanzania.
Events like these bring the Gillco family together outside of the workplace. It was such a wonderful opportunity for our team to participate and also show our youth what it means to volunteer and help others, which is something Gillco considers to be incredibly important in the growth of thriving community.
We love to give back to our community in any way possible and are always looking for more connections with companies who organize help for those in need.
