Process
The customer was looking for a stabilizer to help incorporate the MCT oil, cocoa powder and protein isolates in their chocolate protein drink.
As Gillco has seen a dynamic shift from spoon-in protein powders to ready-to-drink protein shakes, the stabilizing component of formulation has been crucial. We’ve seen tremendous success with other customers using Avicel CL-611 in similar applications, so we recommended this ingredient for testing.
After successful trials with fantastic stabilization, thickening and neutral taste, the customer placed an order for 4 bags of product to begin production. Our partner supplier, IFF, was incredibly helpful expediting the order process. This initial order was crucial, ultimately kick-starting business for the customer, which lead to winning business in Walmart stores nationwide in Q3/Q4 of 2024!
Solution
With this big retail win, the customer placed an order for 32,000 kg of Avicel CL-600. The combination of our strong relationship with IFF, positive customer
experience and efficient order fulfillment led to this sucessful win.
