Challenge
Help a co -manufacturer achieve optimal taste and sweetness for a “zero – sugar ” energy drink application.
Process
During a meeting with one of our Account Managers, the R&D Manager expressed interest in finding a functional ingredient to enhance sweetness in an energy drink without using cane sugar. Solubility was a priority, as they were experiencing challenges with a couple other functional sweeteners they were sampling.
After reviewing all of our sweetener offerings, our Account Manager recommended ViaTech® TS400+, one of Cargill’ s stevia products. This particular ViaTech® SKU was created for more challenging applications, like carbonated soft drinks. ViaTech® TS400+ dissolves quickly in water, has a clean taste profile and enables sugar reduction of 60% or more.
Solution
After test trials, the customer was thrilled about the overall taste and solubility that ViaTech® TS400+ achieved in the energy drink .
